Walnut River Crossing

Walnut Creek Crossin

The California-Osage trail drops down into the rocky limestone bed of the Walnut River through cut downs on both banks   and crosses north to rise up a steep tree studded bank of Burr Oak, Hackberry and Elm, then winding its way past the Conner cabin site located on the property now owned by Mike and Monica Thompson. The wagon swales on either side of the trail are still evident today
